Key Points

The Packaging Specification Sheet is a document that is used to detail the packaging to be used to deliver product.

Minimum Content Requirements

A Packaging Specification shall be completed for each part or part family.

Item Completion Instructions
R / N Project Renault or Nissan Vehicle / Power train project for which the product is being developed / manufactured.
Nissan Important Part Tick all boxes that apply to the product being developed / manufactured.
Renault - CSR Tick either 'S' or 'R' and '1' or '2' as appropriate.
Document Reference No./ Version The Suppliers reference no. and version no. for the document.
Document Revision Date The date of the latest revision of the document.
Document Origin Date The date when the document was first issued.
Supplier Name Supplier Company name.
Supplier Plant Location at which the product will be produced.
Supplier Code Unique code to each supplier, issued by Renault / Nissan Purchasing Dept.
Author The name of the person who created / revised the document
E-mail The E-mail address of the person who created / revised the document.
Tel The telephone number of the person who created / revised the document
Part Name The part name or description as identified on the product drawing
Part No. & Issue Level As issued by Renault / Nissan design department
Design Note No. / DEVO The latest design note number that applies to the product being developed / manufactured.
Ecological Index Index defining the ecological acceptability of the packaging relating to the latest environmental issues Discuss with Nissan logistics contact for clarification
Generic Part Field used to designate a part family
Supplier Contact Contact Contact at the supplier for packaging issues
Tel Telephone number for the supplier contact
Fax Facsimile number for the supplier contact
E-mail E-mail address for the supplier contact
Return To Buyer Packaging buyer in the relevant Renault / Nissan Purchasing department
Address Address where the buyer is located
Tel Telephone number for the buyer
Fax Facsimile number for the buyer
E-mail E-mail address for the buyer
Projected Annualised Maximum Volume The annual volume to be manufactured by Nissan assuming that this volume will be 12 times
the maximum monthly volume in the relevant year
Plant Locations Manufacturing Plant Supplier location where the parts will be manufactured
Despatch Plant Supplier location from where the parts will be despatched
Customer Plant Nissan plant to which the parts will be developed
Distance Distance in km between the despatch plant and the customer plant
Transit Plant Location for storage of parts between the despatch plant and the customer plant
Empty Packaging Return Plant Supplier location where empty packaging will be returned
Transport Method Transport type used to ship the parts from the despatch plant to the customer plant (Road / Rail / Sea / Air)
Photograph / Sketch Include a photograph or sketch of the proposed packaging method
Pack Details Description Description of the packaging to be used
Dimensions Outer dimensions of an individual pack in mm (L x W x H)
Material Material, from which the packaging is made
Pack Type Nissan specific field to designate the packaging type
Qty per Pack The number of parts in one pack
Pack Weight Gross weight in kg of the parts, pack and dunnage for one pack
Tare Weight Weight in kg of the pack and dunnage for one pack
Part Weight Weight in kg of an individual part
Outer Pack Life For non-standard (Nissan owned) packs, the estimated number of delivery cycles to be completed by the outer pack before pack replacement
Dunnage Life For non-standard (Nissan owned) packs, the estimated number of delivery cycles to be completed by the dunnage before replacement
Module Details Description Description of the module packaging to be used
Dimensions Outer dimensions of an individual module in mm (L x W x H)
Module Life For non-standard (Nissan owned) packs, the estimated number of delivery cycles to be completed by the module packaging before replacement
Qty. per Module The number of parts in one module
Material Material, from which the module packaging is made
Module Weight Gross weight in kg of the parts, pack and dunnage for one module
Waste Material Weight The weight of disposable packaging sub-divided into paper, card, polythene, foam, wood and other.
Supplier sign-off Sign-off by relevant functional representatives at the supplier
